Enchantment Slot System

Features #

  • Prevent uber-immunity suits
  • Make suit creation more strategic
  • Make PvP/PvM more interesting by reducing reliance on items
  • Provide a method of evaluating the general value of a magic item
  • Close the gap slightly on 24/7 hunters and people with less time to play (a 24/7 hunter will still have a better suit)
  • The system checks for 37 different item properties. Each property found on the item adds to its ES cost. The ES is calculated each time the item is equipped/unequipped so if an item is modified, the ES cost will automatically update.
  • Current max number of ES equippable on a char is 30 + 10/level (balancing later)
  • Classes have a penalty list of properties which cost double the ES to equip
  • All classes can now equip all properties

The ES cost of each property is based on:

  • Usefulness of the property
  • The class of the equipper

Skill items cost double the ES if the skill is not in the character’s class skill list.
At the moment, each character gets 30 ES + 10 per level (+30 per level for PPs). The amount of ES gained per level for each class can be easily changed. This will be done after balance-testing.

A textcmd will soon be available which shows a gump with all equipped items and their ES.
